Driving Directions from Lihue Airport to Poipu Sands

The drive is approximately 14.5 miles (about 28 minutes) depending on traffic.

1. Exit the airport.
2. At the first stoplight, continue straight on HWY 570 (Ahukini Road) for about 1.1 miles until it intersects with HWY 56 (Kuhio Highway).
3. Turn left onto HWY 56.
4. Stay in the right lane of HWY 56 as it curves right and merges onto HWY 50 (Kaumualii Highway).
5. Continue on HWY 50 until you see signs for the Koloa/Poipu exit.
6. Turn left onto HWY 520 (Maluhia Road) — enjoy the scenic “Tunnel of Trees.”
7. Turn left onto Koloa Bypass Road
8. Follow Koloa Bypass Road
9. End of Koloa Bypass Road go straight ahead onto Pee Road
10. Poipu Sands will be on your left.
